Motorcycle Stories: Hayri

The stories behind some of our customers' love for motorcycles!

Our motorcycle training school, ACBT London, opened its doors on 1 August 2022 in the Blackheath area of the Royal Brough of Greenwich, S.E. London. Our plan was to create a customer centric, unique and welcoming training environment for all.

More than just a training school.

One year on we are more than just a motorcycle training school. We are now also building a community of bikers to help our customers learn and grow as motorcyclists beyond training. As we always say, learning begins after training and motorcycling is a skill that develops over time as long as it is practiced regularly. Our community now has its own dedicated forum which opens up the social world of motorcycling.

We are firm believers that people learn better when relaxed. We have this theme running through all our training programmes and, beyond training, with organised events, rides, guidance and ongoing support through our community we hope to share with you the benefit of more than 30 years motorcycling experience! If you are an ACBT London customer, sign up to the forum and grow with our community, joining is free, the expertise on offer is priceless!

Hayri's story.

Since opening we have met and worked with some incredible people. Some for the first time, others taking their experience further by going on to the big bike or advanced courses. Others just wanted some reassurance and confidence to return to motorcycling after a long hiatus.

Whatever the reason for choosing motorcycles we are proud of our achievements as a school and are extremely proud of what our trainees have achieved on two wheels. We thought we would share those personal stories to hopefully encourage you to scratch that motorcycling itch. The world is a beautiful place to explore and there's no better way to see it than from the saddle of a motorcycle.

Hayri, from Blackheath in London, started training with us in the middle of November 2022. An outstanding trainee, he took his CBT on 16 November. He took his Module 1 test on December 1st and passed first time. He then took his Module 2 test on the 7th December and again, passed first time!

'I wanted a bike licence since I was about 12 years old! Haha, but honestly my dad's a rider and I've always wanted to get my big boy licence. It's something that, once I tried it for the first time, I was hooked too and now can't wait for the next ride.

I have my first group ride planned in a week and I'm sure it'll be so much fun. A place where all types of people can come together and get on.

Tips, tricks and stories being shared left right and centre. Even just stopping at the lights and having a conversation with another biker (sorry Joe if this isn't safe!😂).

ACBT where super in helping me get this licence. I did a direct access course, first getting my cbt then my A license! With not a single minor to report I might add. Both Lisa and Joe are super supportive and approachable. Thank you so much for helping me on the journey! Now the adventures await!

How Hayri did it.

Hayri started with a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course. This is the gateway for riding a motorcycle in the UK. We have more information on the CBT course here. We then planned Hayri's Direct Access Scheme (DAS) training package.

In Hayri's specific case this consisted of a training day for Module 1 and a training day for Module 2. Every trainee is different so we don't have "one size fits all" courses. Our training courses are designed around you, the individual. Our website has more details abou the range of different courses we offer.

We have other blog posts to explain motorcycling in the UK and help you choose the correct path for you. If you require assistance then simply contact us.
